DonutSMP Auction House vs Orders: which pays more? (Sep 7, 2026)
On Sep 7, 2026, DonutSMP Money still moves through player markets, not a spawn shop. /ah and /orders answer different questions — and dumping into /sell first often leaves Money on the table.
Auction House (/ah) is an ask
Sellers list the held item at an asking price. Buyers browse or search. Community notes on donutsmp.wiki/auction-house (source review Sep 5, 2026) are blunt: a listing price is an ask, not proof of what last sold.
Compare price-per-item = total ÷ quantity before you buy or undercut. A cheaper stack is not better value if it has fewer items or worse enchants. Command walkthrough: Auction House.
Orders (/orders) is a bid
Buyers post what they want and what they will pay. Suppliers fill those requests. The fan wiki donutsmp.wiki/orders treats this as the other half of the player market: demand first, items second. Useful for bulk farm output — crops, cobble, printer drops — when you would rather fill a standing request than babysit one-off listings.
An order offer is still just an offer. Compare unit price, quantity, and item properties against other orders and equivalent /ah listings. Longer notes: /orders explained.
/sell is the server floor
/sell pays server base prices, then your sell multiplier. Convenient. Usually worse than a fair /ah list or a strong order fill for the same stack. Wiki notes say an item with a low server sell value can still be valuable to another player.
A June 9, 2026 public wiki note says Orders were connected with /sell and AH routing: compatible higher-paying orders can catch /sell submissions; an AH listing can sell into a better order; creating an order can auto-buy matching cheaper AH listings. Always re-check the live menus — matching rules and capacity change.
After a wilderness start, open both
Practical loop after spawn removal: stash + /sethome, then open both /ah search and /orders before you liquidate a grind stack. There is still no spawn shop. /shop was removed.
