DonutSMP starter guideFirst day · first ~30M

Day one on a huge SMP is noise: RTP, die once, lose a stack, wonder where Money comes from now that /shop is gone. This guide is the calm path: survive the first hour, build an early Money habit, and decide later whether grinding or buying fits your risk tolerance.

First-hour checklist

  1. Join via donutsmp.net and read /rules.
  2. /rtp away from spawn. Do not dig under the hub and call it a base.
  3. Craft tools, gather wood/stone/food, dig a hidden starter shelter.
  4. /sethome so a death is not a full reset.
  5. Check /bal, then list surplus with /ah sell or look at /orders.

First hour is tools and a home. First 30M is a different, slower job.

Thinking about the first ~30M

Early Money is oxygen. Without it you cannot buy listings, pay for trades, or recover after a bad fight. On this storefront, 30M is also the checkout minimum at $0.10 per 1M: so “first 30M” is a useful shared milestone whether you grind or buy.

Grind path: farm common materials, price-check with /ah search, list slightly under market, or fill buy orders on /orders for faster cash (see /orders). Buy path: buy DonutSMP money after you accept that official staff can punish RMT. We do not claim it is allowed.

Gear after you are not broke

Mobility (Elytra) and netherite upgrades change how far you can farm. Both come from the End and the Nether or from player trades for Money: see Elytra and Netherite. Delivery always needs the correct IGN.

Leave spawn with /rtp, gather tools, hide a stash, /sethome, then sell surplus on /ah or fill /orders. Read /rules before you fight or claim contested space.
30M is the minimum Money order on DonutSMP Exchange ($0.10 per 1M). In-game, early goals vary: 30M is a useful mental milestone for kits, listings, and not being broke mid-trade.
Only if you accept RMT risk. Official staff can punish real-money trading. Many new players grind /ah and /orders first. We do not claim buying is allowed.
