On October 15, 2026, there is no brand-new official DonutSMP patch note we can verify from public sources. Today’s desk note is a week-later Halloween status check: one week after pumpkin-head zombies and skeletons became the seasonal farm story, public sources still do not show an official end date or official drop rates.
We are not official staff. This page is built from our October 8 Halloween note, the October 9 farm-meta note (which still flagged pumpkin-head drops as skewing grinders), and the same public YouTube clips cited on October 8. It is not a reprint of that October 8 article.

The October 8 desk note is the full clip breakdown. The durable facts from that page, still the baseline for today, are short:
That note also recorded one creator’s 10-minute test. This page does not reprint the item-by-item sell list. The only numbers worth carrying forward are the ones people are still repeating, and they belong in the caution below, not in a new rate card.

One week later, the open questions from October 8 are still open. Community players keep asking how long the event lasts. This note does not quote those replies. The checkable fact is narrower: no confirmed official end date in the sources at the bottom of this page.
| Still open | Desk note for Oct 15 |
|---|---|
| End date | No public source we can verify names an official stop time. A calendar guess is not a staff date. |
| Exact drop chances | Still no official drop-rate table. “Low chance” for diamonds is a creator description, not a published percent. |
| Region limits | Nothing we checked says the pumpkin-head spawns are limited to one region, or that they are map-wide. Both are unconfirmed. |
| /sell base prices | No public clip in the sources below shows staff changing base sell prices for the event drops. |
Seasonal events often end around the Halloween calendar. That is a pattern people expect. It is not a confirmed staff date. Do not plan a shutdown hour from this page.
The mid-week October 9 farm-meta note still treated pumpkin-head drops as active seasonal context: they can skew mob grinders, and crop routes such as kelp still matter while that context holds. October 9 is not an October 15 spawn check. It is the latest desk note that still framed the event as running.

If your grinder is still catching pumpkin-head mobs, the useful move is a measured session, not a bigger build. The steps below are the October 8 method, restated for a week when the end date is still unpublished.
| Step | Action | Desk note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Use the grinder you already have | An existing zombie or skeleton grinder, or a dark-room spawner area, is enough to see whether pumpkin-head mobs are still reaching your kill chamber. |
| 2 | Keep an item sorter | Split diamonds, iron, coal, and pumpkins into their own chests so one session is countable. |
| 3 | Time the run, then read /sellhistory | Write down the start, run a fixed period, and record what /sellhistory actually paid. Unsold chests are not a rate. |
| 4 | Compare Orders and /ah before you dump | If many players farm the same drops, pumpkin and iron asks can move. Check open Orders and Auction House listings before sending the whole chest through /sell. How those boards work is on the Orders guide and the Auction House guide. |
| 5 | Hide coords and split storage | A busy grinder can draw attention while you are AFK. Hide your coords and split storage, as in the September 26 base security note. |
| 6 | Do not scale on one short clip | In “DonutSMP's Halloween Update Meta” (BrycenStreams, Oct 8, 2026), a two-layer grinder sold through /sell for roughly $986,000 in about 10 minutes (about $986k / 10 min). They estimated that as about $6 million per hour (about $6M/hr). Spawn rates were inconsistent, and diamonds did most of the work. Do not treat either figure as a guarantee. |
The wiki page on money making is the right companion for that test: prove the current design before you spend on a larger one. A clip from October 8 is not that proof on October 15.
