When — or if — the Overworld border moves toward vanilla ~30,000,000, those notes say the RTP radius is kept at the existing smaller range on purpose. The stated reason is concentration: keep the player population together instead of scattering first-day landings across an empty continent. Outer chunks become travel-only. Elytra or foot. Not another /rtp.

We are not saying the border already expanded on Sep 6. Status stays the same as the August notes: a vanilla-size goal is discussed in public; a live ship is not something we can date from this desk.

August 29, 2026 as a “drop date” was a community leak, not a confirmed live expansion. Background: confirmed goal vs August 29 leak. Flooding still does not speed that work. Owner line is unchanged: water burns developer time on lag. Does flooding expand the border?

The durable FAQ is the RTP policy, not a calendar. If a huge wall ever lands, expect the same smaller RTP ring unless staff say otherwise in-game.

What to do instead of hunting the rim

After spawn removal, /rtp is the start, not a border tour. Join, leave the arrival area, gather wood and food, hide a chest, /sethome on a safe landing. The September start loop is on how players start now.

If you want untouched outer terrain after any future expansion, you fly or walk out. Elytra is the usual tool. Spamming RTP will keep dropping you inside the same populated ring.
