DonutSMP weekend starter checklist (Oct 23, 2026): your first two hours as a new or returning player
As of Friday, October 23, 2026, there is no confirmed new official DonutSMP event. Public posts from October 21–23 are fan clips: trap moments, base ratings, Halloween builds, and loot drops. If you are jumping on for the weekend, new or coming back, the useful piece is a two-hour plan. The September 11 first-hour note is the older landing sequence. This page does not repeat the money comparison, the trap patterns, the PvP kit list, the shard-hour table, or the farm caps. It points at them.
First two hours, in order
We are not official DonutSMP staff. Command names can change. Where a public wiki page says to confirm the live prompt, do that before you trust a shortcut from an older clip.
- Returning players: open /home before you /rtp again. If a home is already set, go there first and look at the stash before you put anything new in it. The home commands page (last updated Sep 6, 2026) says a home name does not make a location private or protected, and that slot limits and rename syntax can depend on rank. Read the command feedback before you delete or rename anything. On June 18, 2026 the allowed character limit for home names was increased; that note does not publish a slot count, so this page does not invent one. If the old spot is empty or obviously found, do not rebuild on those coordinates.
- New players, and burned homes: leave with /rtp. A join still does not drop you into a staff-built spawn plaza you can camp. The longer version is the spawn guide. The random teleportation page (last updated Sep 6, 2026) says /rtp moves you to a randomly selected location the server supports. On June 15, 2026 the previous RTP menu was removed. That page also says the exact confirmation and destination rules should be checked in-game, that a random destination is not guaranteed to be safe or valuable, and that you should record coordinates only after the teleport finishes. If a leftover /spawn reply still appears, do not expect a hub. Confirm it live. Command names for the rest of the day are on the commands guide.
- Treat the landing as unprotected. This site's claims guide says DonutSMP has no land-claim plugin. The about page (last updated Sep 6, 2026) describes the server as built around base-hunting and calls bases high-risk, high-reward: with a small world relative to the player base, most are found and raided within days to a month. Treat that as the wiki's risk picture, not a timer for your hut. The base security guide from the same date says no design is permanently raid-proof and no base is guaranteed safe. Do not publish coordinates, screenshots, or a map pin. A fence is a habit, not protection.
- Set the home, then hide a small stash. Use /sethome on the spot you intend to return to, before the first death and before you wander off to look at someone else's build. Keep everyday supplies in one chest and anything you would hate to lose somewhere else, such as an ender chest. The base security guide says to separate frequently used supplies from the most valuable items and to record important contents privately. A Halloween pumpkin on the fence does not change that. The September 11 checklist covers the same first landing in shorter form.
- Run one money check. Do not dump the inventory. Open /bal so you know the balance you already have. Then open /ah and /orders before you /sell the stacks you just gathered. The auction house page (last updated Sep 7, 2026) says /ah is a player marketplace: sellers set asking prices, and an asking price is not proof that anyone paid it. Use /ah with a search term when you want a specific item. Orders (same date) are the other direction: a buyer offers Money for items. Compare the unit price with other orders, with /ah, and with the server sell value. The selling page says /sell pays the server's base price for supported items, and that a higher compatible order can receive those items instead. Preview the number the game shows before you confirm. Which lane pays more across a month is the October 21 comparison and the money guide. This checklist stops at the first check.
- Let shards accrue. Do not hunt for them. The coins in a chest are Money. Shards are the other currency. The shards page (last updated Sep 7, 2026) says every player receives 1 shard every 10 minutes of playtime, and that no Donut+ or Media rank is required for that rate. Kill rewards and the old AFK zone no longer pay shards. Do not spend the session killing players for a currency that kills do not pay. A shard tool on that page is listed at 3,000 shards. At 1 shard per 10 minutes, that is well past a weekend. The October 17 playtime math and the shards guide turn the rest of the shop into hours. Check the live shop. Prices can change. The server decides which minutes count, so do not treat two hours as a guaranteed payout.
- Leave other people's stashes closed. Public posts from October 21–23 are fan clips of trap moments, base ratings, Halloween builds, and loot drops. A carved-pumpkin room you did not build is not a starter chest. The October 22 trap note is the checklist for fake floors, pistons, tripwire, lava, and when to walk away. This page does not repeat those patterns.
- Do not trust a random trade or a teleport invite. The TPA page (last updated Sep 6, 2026) says to accept a request only from a player you recognize, and only when you understand the destination risk. /tpa asks to go to them. /tpahere asks them to come to you. A deal that has to be finished inside a stranger's base can wait. Run the October 3 trading checklist on the items first.
- Do not fight with the kit you just made, and do not start a big farm. The October 20 PvP prep note covers what to carry and what to leave at home, including the June 2026 combat rules. The October 16 farm-limits note is the cap check before a large build. A two-hour session is a home, a stash, and one sell comparison. Spamming /rtp toward the world border is not a shortcut either. Travel past the RTP ring is the October 14 Elytra note.
What is actually on this weekend
Two public stories are still in the background. Neither one is a new DonutSMP patch dated October 23.
Halloween still has no public end date
The last dedicated check on this desk was October 15. A look at public pages on October 23 still does not turn up a staff end date. Pumpkin-head zombies and skeletons remain the seasonal story from the October 8 note. This page does not republish drop rates or a per-hour money figure. If a grinder you already own is still catching those mobs, measure a short run the way the October 15 note says. Do not scale a farm around an end date nobody has published. Seasonal events often wind down around the Halloween calendar. That pattern is not a staff date.
Streamer Awards voting is still open
Fan voting for The Streamer Awards 2026 runs from October 16 through October 31, 2026. DrDonut (@DrDonut099) is nominated for Best Minecraft Streamer. The nomination is the streamer, not DonutSMP itself. The October 18 note has the other nominees and, citing thestreamerawards.com, the November 12 show date. Voting does not change /rtp, homes, or shard rates.
What this page is not claiming
- No new official DonutSMP event or patch note on October 23, 2026.
- No cooldown number for /rtp, and no home-slot count. Both should be read in-game.
