DonutSMP border expansion status (Oct 24, 2026): still not live, what we know and what to do meanwhile

As of Saturday, October 24, 2026, the DonutSMP world border expansion is still not live. A fresh check of the public wiki page donutsmp.wiki/world-border-expansion still shows last updated September 7, 2026, status Upcoming, date TBA. There is no confirmed new official event today.

Public posts from October 22–24 in this check are fan clips: trap moments and base-rating streams. A fan post on October 23 joked that DonutSMP can expand its borders someday. This desk could not retrieve a stable URL for that post, so the line is a paraphrase, not a verified verbatim quote, and it is not tied to a named account. It is not a date. The useful reading matches the wiki: the border still looks unexpanded. We are not official DonutSMP staff. This page does not reprint the September 12 status note or yesterday's weekend starter checklist.

Current border status (Oct 24)

On October 24 the border page still lists the change as type Planned world change, status Upcoming, date unconfirmed / TBA. It says the expansion is a planned enlargement of the playable world boundary, and that an exact release date and final dimensions should not be stated without a verifiable official announcement. Public discussion, it says, does not establish a confirmed schedule. Estimates from players, videos, market talk, or unofficial calculations are not announcements.

The same page still summarizes the June 2026 development notes. On June 17 the team said temporary hopper behavior and the 3× /sell values would remain until the expansion. On June 29 it described TNT support, vanilla-feature compatibility, entity capacity, and long-term chunk-generation stability as preparation, and said entity limits and simulation distance would not be reduced. Those notes confirm intent. They do not give a release date, a final border size, or a rollout schedule. The October 12 status page already walked through that June text. This note only records that the page has not been updated since.

Whether that 3× sell value is still the number the server pays is a separate question. Public pages do not agree. The October 21 money note tells you to read the figure /sell shows. This page does not settle the multiplier.

The about page (last updated Sep 6, 2026) still describes a future expansion "to 30 million by -30 million," and it expects prices of limited items to fall and skeleton spawners to rise when that happens. The border page, updated the next day and rechecked today, says final dimensions should not be stated without an official announcement. Read the 30 million figure as the about page's expectation. It is not a live world size, and it is not a ship date. Earlier notes on this hub, including September 12 and October 12, treated a similar vanilla-scale goal of about ±30,000,000, often named for the Overworld, Nether, and End, as the size people discuss. The border page still does not lock those dimensions in.

A check of donutsmp.wiki/world, /overworld, and /rtp on October 24 returned 404. This note uses the live pages: world-border-expansion, about-donutsmp, and random-teleportation.

What has and has not happened since September 12

The September 12 status note said the expand was announced and not live, that circulating clip explainers described it as infrastructure work, and that /rtp was expected to stay in a dense ring. The paragraphs below are the check since that page. They do not repeat the clip essay.

  • September 13. A public Reddit thread titled “Border expension this week!” said a same-week staff note had to be the expansion. Replies on that thread said it was scaling the current world, not a border expansion, and that the expansion still had no date. This page does not quote Discord, does not republish a screenshot, and does not treat the title as an announcement. Player guesses in that thread about how many blocks might move are unconfirmed, so they are left out.
  • October 4, 7, 10, and 12. The October 4 week note, the October 7 flood tracker, the October 10 week note, and the October 12 status page each rechecked the same public picture: no confirmed live expand. This page does not invent a new flood percent. The October 7 note is where the last published tracker day sits.
  • October 14, 16, and 19. The October 14 travel note said a bigger wall would not turn /rtp into a rim ticket. The October 16 farm-limits note still treated the expansion as TBA. The October 19 week in review rechecked the wiki that day and still found Upcoming, date TBA, last updated September 7.
  • October 20–23. The PvP checklist, the money comparison, the trap note, and yesterday's starter checklist did not publish a live expand. Yesterday's page is the two-hour start for a new or returning player. This page is the border check.

What did not happen in that stretch: the border wiki page did not gain a date, the August 29 "drop date" did not become a confirmed launch, and flooding did not become a lever that speeds the work. The flooding-event page (last updated Sep 7, 2026) says connecting the flood to the expansion is community interpretation, not an official date or a technical plan. The owner line already on this hub is the August 28 flooding note. The August 29 leak stays on its own page.

Other public stories did move, and none of them is a border ship. Halloween still has no end date on the October 15 check. Streamer Awards voting, covered on October 18, runs through October 31. The October 19 digest is the short version of that week.

Why the RTP range does not change with the border

/rtp and the world border are different settings. The command drops you on a location the server currently supports. The border is the edge of the playable world. Opening more terrain past that edge does not, by itself, rewrite the range /rtp is allowed to roll.

The live page is donutsmp.wiki/random-teleportation (last updated Sep 6, 2026). It says random teleportation moves a player to a randomly selected location supported by DonutSMP. It says not to infer fixed coordinates, because destination selection and world-border limits can change, and to record coordinates only after the teleport finishes. It does not publish a radius in blocks. On June 15, 2026 the previous RTP menu was removed. The exact confirmation and destination rules should be checked in-game.

Older copy on this hub linked donutsmp.wiki/rtp. That URL returned 404 on this October 24 check, so this page does not cite it as a live source. The September 6 RTP note, the October 12 status page, and the October 14 Elytra note still describe the practical split those public notes were using: /rtp stays in a dense ring around world center so the player population stays concentrated, and land past that ring is travel. Unless the live command says otherwise, a future expansion would follow the same split. Spamming /rtp would not drop you on new rim chunks.

That is why a border date, if one is ever announced, is a travel plan and not an RTP plan. Elytra, a boat, or walking is how you cross ground the command will not roll. The October 14 note is the packing list. This page does not invent a block radius the live wiki page does not give.

Where to base meanwhile

Base on the world you can walk today. The border page's own travel note says to check an official announcement for the release time, the dimensions it names, and the new coordinates, and not to plan a journey around an unconfirmed date or a player-made border map. A coordinate pack labeled as the new rim is that kind of map.

  1. Start from a home you can return to. Spawn is still removed. A join is not a staff plaza you can camp. If a home is already set, open it before you /rtp again. If it is empty or obviously found, do not rebuild on those coordinates. If you are new, leave with /rtp, hide a small stash, and /sethome before you wander. Yesterday's checklist is the two-hour version. The September 11 first-hour note and the spawn guide are the longer landing pages. This note stops at the reason: you need a return point on the current map, not a camp on a wall that has not moved.
  2. Treat the RTP ring as the busy part of the map. New players keep landing there, so bases pile up there. A quieter spot on the current world means traveling out of that ring by elytra, boat, or foot. It does not mean standing at the world border waiting for fresh chunks. The Elytra guide and the October 14 note cover the trip.
  3. Assume the spot is unprotected. This site's claims guide says there is no land-claim plugin. The about page says that with a small world relative to the player base, most bases are found and raided within days to a month. Treat that as the wiki's risk picture, not a timer for your hut. The September 26 base-security note says no base is guaranteed safe. Do not publish coordinates, screenshots, or a map pin.
  4. Leave other people's builds closed. The fan clips in this October 22–24 window are trap moments and base ratings. A base you did not build is not a starter chest. The October 22 trap note is the checklist for fake floors, pistons, tripwire, and lava. This page does not repeat those patterns.

If the border does open

Nothing below is a prediction that it opens on a given day. It is the short list to run after a real announcement, taken from the wiki pages rechecked today and from the travel and farm notes already on this hub.

  • Read the announcement for the release time, the dimensions it actually names, and the new coordinates. Do not fill those blanks from a clip or a Reddit title.
  • Do not spam /rtp for the new ground. Pack for a flight or a walk. The October 14 note is the kit.
  • Existing spawners stay a closed-supply player-market item unless DonutSMP changes that mechanic. That sentence is on the border page. The September 16 supply note is the longer version. An expansion is not, on the current wiki text, a new spawner printer.
  • Do not move a stash because of a price sentence. The about page expects limited-item prices to fall and skeleton spawners to rise. The border page says effects on exploration and on naturally generated items are possible consequences, not guaranteed market outcomes, and that a prediction is not a completed trade. Price the item you actually hold, on the day you sell it.
  • Farm caps still apply to anything you build before the land exists. The October 16 note is the creeper, item-frame, and hopper check. Do not size a farm for chunks that are not open.
  • Record coordinates only after you arrive. The random-teleportation page says limits can change. A number you wrote down from a leak map is not a destination.

Fake "border leak" posts

The pattern is already on this hub. August 29, 2026 circulated as a drop date and stayed unconfirmed. The border page says not to treat estimates, videos, market discussions, or unofficial calculations as announcements.

Use a plain filter. If a post, a clip title, or a message says the border opens tonight, sells a coordinate pack, or asks you to hand over items or money for a "leak," it is not an announcement. If it tells you to download a client, a map, or a border pack that pretends to be staff, close it. The September 13 Reddit title is the public example from the week after the September 12 note: the headline said the expansion was that week, and the replies said it was not. A title is not a patch note.

The only status this desk can verify on October 24, 2026 is the wiki line: Upcoming, date TBA, last updated September 7, 2026.

Border status FAQ

No. A re-check of donutsmp.wiki/world-border-expansion on October 24, 2026 still lists World Border Expansion as Upcoming, date TBA, last updated September 7, 2026. This desk cannot verify a staff announcement that a vanilla-size border went live after the October 19 week-in-review.
The public border page lists the date as TBA and says an exact release date and final dimensions should not be stated without a verifiable official announcement. Player estimates, clip titles, and the old August 29 leak are not that announcement.
Not by itself. The live random-teleportation page (last updated September 6, 2026) says /rtp moves you to a randomly selected location the server supports. It does not publish a block radius, and it says destination selection and world-border limits can change. Moving the world border adds terrain past the old limit. It does not rewrite the RTP range unless staff change that range too. Outer land stays a trip by elytra, boat, or foot.
On the world you can walk today. Leave with /rtp if you do not already have a home, hide a stash, and /sethome before you wander. The RTP ring is the busy part of the current map. A quieter spot means traveling away from that ring, not camping a coordinate from a leak map. There is no land-claim plugin, and the about page says most bases are found.
A post, clip title, or message that says the border opens tonight, sells coordinates, or asks you to hand over items or money for a leak is not an announcement. The August 29 date stayed unconfirmed. A September 13 Reddit thread claimed an expansion that week, and replies said it was scaling, not a border change. The only status this page can verify on October 24 is the wiki line: Upcoming, date TBA, last updated September 7.
